Obituary of Marc H. (Da) Skuza

SALISBURY CENTER Marc H. (Da) Skuza, 55 of 107 Plant Road, Salisbury Center passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 23, 2011 at his residence. He was born on March 3, 1956 in Little Falls the son of the late Henry J. and Olga (Pietryzsk) Skuza. He was a graduate of Dolgeville High School class of 1974. He was united in marriage to the former Mary Lamphere on July 31, 1993 in the Town of Fairfield. Marc grew up on the family dairy farm on the Thompson Road in Fairfield where he truly enjoyed the hard work of farming. After farming he was employed as a general contractor, excavator and logger, a true "jack of all trades". He was currently employed as a diesel mechanic for Winkler Repair of Dolgeville where he was a respected worker and close friend to everyone at the shop and will be dearly missed. He was an active member of the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept. as well as a member of the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club and the Salisbury Ridge Runners Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His time was spent enjoying his grandchildren and especially attending his cherished grandson Austins many sporting events. He is survived by his wife Mary, his stepson Richard Lamphere and his wife Jennifer, Fairfield, his step daughters Jessica Lamphere and her companion Chris Sickler, Salisbury and Brittany Pettis, Salisbury, his 4 grandchildren Austin Lamphere, his best friend who resided with his beloved (Da), Rylee Rose Lamphere, Chloe Ann Sickler and Reece Marie Lamphere, and his dear friends Bob, Dennis, John and Fred Winkler. He was predeceased by his sister Cheryl Pietszyk on June 14, 2002 and by his friend Bill Nichols on February 17, 2005. Relatives and friends are invited to a celebration of his life to be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011 at 6:00 pm at the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept., 2549 State Route 29, Salisbury Center, NY where members of the department will conduct services in honor of their brother. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Marc be considered to the Salisbury, Vol. Fire Dept., PO Box 65, Salisbury Center, NY 13454. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
