Obituary of Margaret B. Kuehnle
SALISBURY CENTER - Margaret B. Kuehnle 70 of 164 North Road, Salisbury Center passed away Thursday, December 16, 2004 at Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown where she had been a patient since December 14, 2004.
She was born on November 6, 1934 in the Town of Oppenheim the daughter of the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Jones) Barnes. She graduated with honors from Stratford High School, Class of 1951 and was a graduate of Oneonta State Teachers College.
She was united in marriage to Charles E. Kuehnle on July 4, 1951 at the Salisbury Center Universalist Church.
She was of the Universalist faith. She was a member of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Dept. Auxiliary, the Salisbury Ridge Runners Club, Mohawk Valley Business Women's Association, Herkimer Lady Elk's, a former member of the Zonta Club and served as the Secretary - Treasurer for the Stratford Cemetery Association.
Mrs. Kuehnle was employed at onetime by the Salisbury Center Post Office, and later taught at the Stratford School. She left teaching and was employed by the Rite Equipment Co., Gouverneur, NY. After leaving that position she was employed for 25 years as the office manager for Castle Ford, Herkimer and served in that same capacity for Castle Enterprise's for several years. She then became self employed in the operation of MK Accounting which she operated for 7 years until her retirement in 1998.
She is survived by her husband Charles, 2 sons Charles R. Kuehnle and his wife Beth, Richlands, NC and John A. Kuehnle and his wife Kari, Durham, Conn., a daughter Colleen E. Walrath, Salisbury Center, 8 grandchildren Brian Walrath and his wife Tonya, Little Falls, Leanne M. Walrath, Salisbury Center, Sgt. Chad M. Kuehnle, US Army and his wife Michelle, presently serving in Iraq, Brett Kuehnle and his wife Fran, Carthage, NY, Melissa Lutz and her husband Donald, Richlands, NC, Alexandra, Emma and Morgan Kuehnle, all of Durham, Conn., 11 great grandchildren Ashley, Michael, Bryce and Zachary Kuehnle, Courtney, Miranda and Hunter Lutz, Joseph and Rebecca Kuehnle, Kyle Roe and Blake Walrath, a niece Kim Davis Rider, Marshville, MA, a nephew Timothy Davis, Upton, MA, cousins Cathy Barclay, Cooperstown and Paul Barclay and his wife Nancy, Oakland, ME, and a brother and sister in law Donald and Joan Kuehnle, Palos Verdes, CA. She was predeceased by a sister Janet Barnes Davis.
Graveside memorial services will be held in the spring at Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Kuehnle be considered to the Central Association of the Blind, 507 Kent Street, Utica, NY 13501 or to the Wilmer Eye Institute at John Hopkins, 600 N. Wolfe Street, Wilmer 112, Baltimore, MD 21289. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
