Obituary of Marian E. Reitz

MIDDLEVILLE Marian E. Reitz, 82 of 3076 State Route 169, Middleville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 13, 2009 at her residence. She was born on October 3, 1926 in the Town of Oppenheim the daughter of the late Harry and Anna (Hain) Kelly. She was a graduate of Dolgeville High School as well as the Utica School of Commerce. She was united in marriage to her husband of 51 years Walter M. Reitz on May 21, 1949 at St. Josephs Church, Dolgeville. Mr. Reitz predeceased her on November 3, 2000. Mrs. Reitz was a member of St. Josephs Church, Dolgeville. As well as a member of the Hilltop Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary. An avid reader she enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing solitaire and for many years bowled in various leagues in Dolgeville. She was employed at onetime in the bookkeeping department of the Gehring Tricott Co. Dolgeville and for many years in that same capacity by the Adirondack Bat Co., Dolgeville. She was last employed as an Office Clerk for the former Producers Co Op, Dolgeville retiring in 1977. In 1980 following her and her husband Walters retirement the couple relocated from the Oppenheim/Dolgeville area to the Sedona, Arizona where they resided for ten years before returning to Middleville to be closer to her family. She is survived by 2 sons Allan Reitz and Martin Reitz both of Dolgeville, 3 daughters Katherine Dillenbeck and her husband Jack, Fairfield, Cheryl Moore and her husband Robert, Milford, NY and Marianne Dillenbeck and her husband Kevin, Little Falls, 8 grandchildren Tammy Dillenbeck-Wilson and E.J., Lisa Carrigan and Boyd, John Dillenbeck Jr., and Heather, Daniel Dillenbeck, Michael Dillenbeck, Elizabeth Baker and Bradley, Benjamin Moore and Kelly Moore and Brent Allan, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Francis Kelly in 1985. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 9:00 am from the St. Josephs Church, 31 N. Helmer Ave., Dolgeville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. William A. Gorman, Pastor of St. Josephs Church. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Wednesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Reitz be considered to the Middleville Vol. Fire Dept., 41 N. Main St., Middleville, NY 13406 or to the Hilltop Vol. Fire Dept., 7770 State Hwy 29, Dolgeville, NY 13329. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
