Obituary of Marlyn M. Darling

ST. JOHNSVILLE- Marlyn M. Darling, 89, a resident of St. Johnsville Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, formerly of 1569 Baum Road, St. Johnsville, entered into her eternal life on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 with her loving family at her side. She was born on September 21, 1922 in Ilion the daughter of the late Louis and Violet (Christman) Prevost. She was educated in the Little Falls and Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to Harry C. Darling on September 28, 1940 at the United Methodist Church, Herkimer. They celebrated 70 years as husband and wife. Mr. Darling predeceased her on September 26, 2010. Marlyn was a member of the Fort Plain Reformed Church. For over 20 years Harry and Marlyn Darling operated their family dairy farm in Freysbush. In later years they lived at Caroga Lake and St. Johnsville. Mrs. Darling was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to bake, cook and be surrounded by her family and friends. She also loved to fish and spent many happy days in Florida and Black Lake with Harry on their boat. She is survived by her 4 children Carol L. Burhmaster and her husband Henry, St. Johnsville, Beverlee A. Dingman and her husband Bruce, Ft. Plain, Donald A. Darling and his wife Barbara, St. Johnsville and Larry R. Darling, Gloversville. Marlyn also has 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a great great grandchild. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2011 at 6 pm at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 North Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Nancy E. Ryan, pastor of the Fort Plain Reformed Church officiating. At convenience of the family interment will be in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, town of Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, December 2, 2011 from 4-6 pm and to attend the memorial service to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Marlyn M. Darling be considered to the Fort Plain Reformed Church, 165 Canal Street, Fort Plain, NY. 13339. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
