Obituary of Mary G. Jones

MOHAWK / LITTLE FALLS - Mary G. Jones, 93 formerly of State Route 5S, Mohawk and Rockton Plaza, Little Falls passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 at the Betsy Ross Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Rome where she had been a resident since March of 2005. She was born on February 5, 1917 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Lucas and Mary (Dymterko) Grescheck. She was educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to her husband of 61 years Frederick J. Jones on October 29, 1938 at St. Marys Church, Little Falls. Mr. Jones predeceased her on October 14, 1999. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. She enjoyed tending to home in the Town of German Flatts her house plants, vegetable and flowers gardens, and she was an accomplished seamstress. Mrs. Jones was employed for 35 years as a sample maker for the former Allegro Shoe Corp., Little Falls. She is survived by her son David F. Jones and his wife Dorothy, Holmdel, NJ, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Douglas A. Jones on April 16, 2007, her infant brothers Anthony and Frank Grzeszczuk, brothers Michael and Anthony Grescheck, her sisters Amelia Metott, Frances Mucica, Josephine McCoy and Helen Jones, a grandson Douglas Scott Jones and a great granddaughter Brianna Jones. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 20, 2010 at 10:30 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls and at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.s, Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Thomas Lawless. Interment will take place in St. Marys Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday, September 20, 2010 from 9-10:30 am and to attend the funeral services to follow.
