Myron A. (Bud) Mitchell
LITTLE FALLS- Myron A. (Bud) Mitchell, 79 of 23 Petrie Street, Little Falls passed away Tuesday February 21, 2006 at Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown.
He was born on October 23, 1926 in Canajoharie the son of the late Floyd and Irene (Searles) Mitchell. He was a gradate of Canajoharie High School Class of 1943.
He was married to the former Margaret M. Sherwood on October 21, 1950 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls with the Rev. Frederick Thorne. She predeceased him on July 23, 1998.
He was veteran and entered the service January 3, 1949.
He was a member of the Paines Hollow Methodist Church and the Little Falls American Legion Post #31.
Mr. Mitchell was employed for 35 years as a mechanic and parts specialists at the former Quackenbush Auto Parts, Herkimer.
He is survived by two sons Michael Mitchell and his wife Kristen, Syracuse and Marc Mitchell and his fiancé© Lisa Johnson, Little Falls. Other survivors include four granddaughters Erica Rose and Laura Irene Mitchell, Kelsey Elizabeth Colvin all of Syracuse and Jesse-Lynn Margaret Mitchell, Little Falls, three brothers Ted Mitchell, Allan Mitchell and his wife Velma, Gerald (Vic) Mitchell, three sisters Phyllis Failing and her husband George (Skip), Anita Smith, Joan Hudson and her husband Robert and a sister-in-law Grace Sherwood and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a infant sister Shirley Jean Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 24, 2006 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Wrightson Tongue, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Herkimer officiating. Interment will take place in Dolgeville Cemetery in the spring.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2006 from 4-7 pm and to attend the funeral services Friday morning.
In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Mitchell be considered to the Hospice Care Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY. 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
