Obituary of Harriet E. Nichols

LITTLE FALLS - Harriet E. Nichols, 79 of 107 Diamond Street, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at home. She was born on February 15, 1924 in Herkimer the daughter of the late James and Maude (Murray) Hadcock. She was educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to Lester Earl Nichols on December 21, 1940 at the United Methodist Church, Herkimer with the Rev. Fred Cotnam officiating. Mr. Nichols predeceased her on December 23, 1996. Mrs. Nichols was of the Methodist faith, She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and tending to her house plants and the company of her pets. She was employed at onetime by the former Duofold Co., Mohawk She is survived by 2 sons Larry A. Nichols, Little Falls and William Nichols, Little Falls, a daughter Sandra Lamanna and her husband John, Dolgeville, 2 sisters Elizabeth Nelson and her husband George, Dolgeville and Bessie Smith and her husband Tracy, Ballston Spa, 13 grandchildren Theresa Maybaum and her husband David, Florida, Alicia Lamanna, Buffalo, Angela Lamanna, N. Carolina, Maria Perusich and her husband Jason, N. Carolina, Shawn Nichols, Utica, Jeffrey Nichols, Little Falls, Chad Nichols, Little Falls, Charmane Nichols, St. Johnsville, Amanda Nichols, St. Johnsville, Tracy Nichols, S. Dakota, Angela Combs, Washington, Dyan Zahn, Washington and Daniel Chapman, Washington, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A special friend Neil Horner, Little Falls. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Donald and Leon Hadcock, and 2 sisters Bertha Trimboli and Violet Burns. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Oak Hill Cemetery at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
