Obituary of Town of Manheim

Town of Manheim- Walter O. Ortlieb, 93, of 5653 State Route 167, Little Falls, Town of Manheim, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at the Little Falls Hospital. Born on December 1, 1911, in the town of Manheim, the son of the late Charles and Melvina (Haak) Ortlieb. Mr. Ortlieb was educated in the Manheim Rural Schools. He was united in marriage to his wife of 53 years the former Gloria A. Billings on September 19, 1947 at the St. Paul's Universalist Church, Little Falls, by Rev. Gilman. Mrs. Ortlieb predeceased him on February 20, 2000. He was a life member of the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge # 796, F&A.M. Mr. Ortlieb was the co-owner and operator of the Ortlieb family farm and later Ortlieb Sales and Service in the town of Manheim. He retired from the business after 30 years of service. Mr. Ortlieb is survived by three sons Larry Ortlieb and his wife Barbara, of Little Falls, Lynn Ortlieb and his wife Ginny, of Orange, CA and Bruce Miller and his wife Ellen, of Alamo, CA, a brother August (Steve) Ortlieb, of Little Falls, three grandchildren Wendy Copperfield and her husband Kevin, Kristen Fraser and her husband Bret and Royce Miller and his wife Lisa, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers Carl, Harman, Ted Ortlieb and three sisters Selma Ortlieb, Emma Hill and Elnora Nellis. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2005 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb officiating. Interment will take place in the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, April 29, 2005 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services in the morning. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Ortlieb be considered to the Community Animal Program, 15 Jackson Street, Little Falls, NY. 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. Members of the Dolgeville Masonic Lodge # 796 F&AM will call in a body at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:00 pm to conduct their ritualistic services
