Obituary of Stephen Otrupcak

LITTLE FALLS- Stephen Otrupcak, 87 of 760 East Monroe Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, October 20, 2006 at the Little Falls Hospital. He was born on July 25, 1919 in Herkimer the son of the late Stephen and Anna (Mizerak) Otrupcak. He educated in the Herkimer and Little Falls Schools. He was united in marriage to the former Helen Chomiak on July 30, 1949 in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls by the Rev. George Billy. Mr. Otrupcak was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army. He entered the service on June 26, 1942 in Utica. And was honorably discharged on September 30, 1945 at Fort Dix, New Jersey receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He also participated in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. As well as a member of the Staff Sgt. Steve Stefula Post #4612, VFW and American Legion Post #31 both of Little Falls A devoted husband and loving father. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, trapper and enjoyed gathering mushrooms, gardening and reading Mr. Otrupcak was employed for 25 years as a master machinist at Chicago-Pneumatic Corp., Utica. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Helen, 2 sons Stephen Otrupcak and his wife Karen and Thomas Otrupcak, Little Falls, 2 Daughters Katherine Owens and her husband Thomas, Stephanie Cook and her husband Robert, Little Falls, 3 brothers John Otrupcak, Paul Otrupcak and his wife Katherine, Little Falls, Michael Otrupcak and his wife Helen, Texas and 3 sisters Eva DiNardi and her husband Michael, Kristine Bucenec both of Little Falls and Elaine Kroll and her husband Edward, Richfield Springs, 7 grandchildren Melissa and Robert Cook, Thomas, Katrina, Stefan, Anna Owens and Stephen Otrupcak and a Great Grandchild Summer Moon Ianotta. He was predeceased by 3 sisters Ann Anderson, Suzanne Stuble and Elizabeth Konik. Relatives and Immediate Family Members Only are invited to attend a memorial service that will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2006 at 10:00 am from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 East Gansvoort Street, Little Falls interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Otrupcak be considered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 East Gansvoort Street, Little Falls, NY., 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
