Obituary of Paul J. Burns

TOWN OF DANUBE - Paul J. Burns, 69, of 219 Fincks Basin Road, Little Falls, passed away Thursday, October 28, 2004 at his residence. He was born on May 19, 1935 in Schenectady the son of the late Stuart and Alice (McGhee) Burns. He was educated in the Schenectady Schools. He was untied to his wife of 32 years the former Joyce Sanders on January 1, 1972 in the town of Danube. Mr. Burns served with the Army National Guard, being honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls and enjoyed traveling. Since 1971 he has been the owner and operator of the Exit 29A Truck Center, Inc., on Fincks Basin Road, Little Falls. He is survived by his wife Joyce, a son John P. Burns, Pittsburgh, PA., a daughter Shelley R. Athari and her husband Mo, New Hartford, two sisters Gloria Shoemaker and husband Norris, Aurora, NY and Elaine Magnone, Lancaster, NY, 2 grandchildren Alexander & Nicholas Athari and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 7:00 pm from the First Baptist Church, 555 E. Albany Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Burns be considered to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 555 E. Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
