Obituary of Raymond G. Rumrill
DOLGEVILLE - Raymond G. Rumrill, 70 of 239 County Highway 120, Dolgeville (Town of Oppenheim) passed away Thursday, May 7, 2009 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica where he had been a patient since April 20.
He was born on April 20, 1939 in Stratford the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Looman) Rumrill. He was educated in Stratford Schools.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 17 years the former Marilyn (Keeler) Murray on July 25, 1992 in the Town of Manheim.
Mr. Rumrill was a veteran of the US Army entering the service in 1958. He was honorably discharged on October 31, 1964.
He was a member of the Little Falls American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls, Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club, H.C. Smith Benefit Club, St. Johnsville and the Polish Community Home, Little Falls.
Mr. Rumrill was employed for 35 years by the Gehring Tricot Co., Dolgeville. Following his retirement he was employed part time as a watchman for the Helmont Mills, St. Johnsville.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, his son Raymond C. Rumrill and his wife Joan, Salisbury Center, his daughter Stacy Muniz, Dolgeville, his sister Sue Rasback, Frankfort, a step son Albert Murray and his wife Frances, Herkimer, 4 step daughters Shirley Bellstedt and her husband Karl, Ilion, Bonnie Ross and her husband Tyrone, Herkimer, Pamela Bellstedt, Herkimer and Beatrice Rivera and her husband Steven, Bentonville, AR, a son in law Larry Bellstedt, Herkimer, 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased a daughter Rhonda Sue Estes, on May 19, 2003, a granddaughter Jeanette Mosher on November 29, 2009 and by a brother Olin Michael Rumrill
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. John Reams, Pastor of the Salisbury United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday, May 11, 2009 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Tuesday morning.
