Obituary of Raymond R. Eagles
TOWN OF EXETER Raymond R. Eagles, 79 of Angel Hill Road, Burlington Flats formerly of Salisbury passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 23, 2011 at his residence.
He was born on January 18, 1932 in Newark, NJ the son of the late Walter and Marie (Popeluk) Eagles. He was a graduate of New Jersey schools
Mr. Eagles was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Air Force. Entering the service on March 7, 1949. He was honorably discharged as and Airman Second Class on November 6, 1952.
He was married at onetime to the former Mary Ann (Millow) McLaughlin of Little Falls.
A member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Richfield Springs. He was also a member and past commander of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls and the former Knights of Columbus Council # 7675, Dolgeville.
Mr. Eagles was a retired NYS DOT heavy equipment mechanic and a hobby farmer. He was an avid admirer of antique cars and tractors and was also known for tinkering in his workshop.
He is survived by two sons Raymond C. Eagles (Janet), Mohawk and Blane Eagles (Melissa), Stratford, his two daughters Rebecca Eagles (Charles Case), Little Falls and Laura Mellon (Jay), Tiegacay, SC, his sister Arlene Scaturro, Spotswood, NJ and a half brother Michael Eagles, New Jersey, two grandchildren Kelsea Eagles and Daniel Eagles and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
