Obituary of Richard I. Nellis

LITTLE FALLS Richard I. Nellis, 70 of 43 Sherman Street, Little Falls formerly of Herkimer passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 5, 2011 at his residence. He was born on April 27, 1940 in Mohawk the son of the late Walter and Anna (Starr) Nellis. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School. Mr. Nellis was first united in marriage to the former Cornelia Fiesinger who predeceased him in July of 1990. On May 4, 1991 he was united in marriage to the former Betty Ann Grose in Ilion. Mr. Nellis was a radio broadcaster and disc jockey for many years in several area radio stations including WREM, WUTQ. He was last on the air for the former WYUT, Herkimer before his retirement. He is survived by his wife Betty Ann, Little Falls. He was predeceased by his brother Walter Nellis in 1991. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
