Obituary of Robert E. Green

OCALA, FL Robert E. Green, 87 of 29 Spring Loop, Ocala, FL formerly of Little Falls-Inghams Mills passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 21, 2009 at his residence. He was born on August 12, 1921 in Dolgeville the son of the late Ralph E. and Marjorie A. (Galusha) Green. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1938 and attended Utica College. He was united in marriage to his wife of 65 years the former Bertha B. Radley on November 1, 1941 at the Inghams Mills Baptist Church. Mrs. Green predeceased him on March 20, 2007. Mr. Green was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army Air Corps. He entered the service on November 19, 1943 at Ft. Dix, NJ and served with the 3701 Army Air Force Base Unit. He was honorably discharged as an Aviation Cadet on November 7, 1945 in Sioux Falls, SD. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge # 796, F&AM, Dolgeville. Mr. Green was employed as a sales manager for the former Cherry Burrell Corp., Little Falls from 1945 1981. He was last employed as a sales representative for the Alloy Equipment Corp., Garland, TX retiring in 1986. In 1988 he and his wife Bertha relocated to Florida where they have since resided. He is survived by his son James R. Green, Marion, Iowa, his daughter Janet Levenworth and her husband Raymond, Pomona Park, Florida, 6 grandchildren Scott Green, Sean Green, Gregg Rockwell, Keith Rockwell, Scott Rockwell and Raymond Levenworth, 3 great grandchildren Kristin and Reese Rockwell and Amanda Green, a sister in law Shirley Green, Granada Hill, Calif. and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Donald E. Green, a sister Ruth Munger and a sister Agnes, who died in infancy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 26, 2009 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb of the Inghams Mills Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, June 26, 2009 from 9-10 am and to attend the funeral services to follow.
