Obituary of Ronald E. King

LITTLE FALLS Ronald E. King, 68 of Paradise Road, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 4, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at home. He was born on June 21, 1944 in Herkimer the son of the late Elmer and Mary (Burns) King. He was a graduate of Herkimer High School Class of 1962. He was united in marriage to his wife of 40 years the former Jill E. Shay on April 7, 1973 at the First Baptist Church, Little Falls by the Rev. Frederick Thorne. Mr. King was a veteran of the Vietnam War proudly serving with the US Coast Guard as a Helicopter Search & Rescue crewman, stationed at the Far Rockaway, NY Coast Guard Station. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls. Mr. King was the owner and operator of Kings Performance, Little Falls for many years performing auto repairs and used car sales. He was also a Licensed Fishing Boat Captain operating Angler Charters, providing charter fishing tours on Lake Ontario, Oswego, NY as well as fishing tours on the Hudson River from Kingston, NY He is survived by his wife Jill, his daughter Kelly DeCarr, Clifton Park, NY, his son Ronny King and his wife Cassi, Charlotte, NC, sister Barbara Hurteau, Mohawk, 4 grandchildren Carter DeCarr, Shelby Rose DeCarr, Grady DeCarr and Colton King, several nieces and nephews and his 2 very special close friends Dan Tolman, Little Falls and Matt Steenberg, Mohawk. He was predeceased by his son in law Robert DeCarr on November 20, 2012. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Thursday, March 7, 2013 from 5-8 pm. Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring at a time and date to be announced. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. King be considered to the American Heart Association, PO Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13320. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
