Obituary of Ruth H. Darling

LITTLE FALLS Ruth H. Darling, 88 of Little Falls passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home , Ilion. She was born on July 28, 1920 in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Nathan A. and Rachel (Stevens) Curtiss. She was educated in Little Falls schools. She was united in marriage to Bruce R. Darling n March 26, 1966 in Dolgeville. Mr. Darling predeceased her on March 14, 2004. Mrs. Darling and her husband for many years resided in Port Orange, FL. She was a former member of the Royal Neighbors Chapter # 5278 and the Nowadaga Grange # 1298 of Newville. An avid animal lover she also enjoyed crafts especially ceramics and making gifts for family and friends. She is survived by 2 sons Paul Jaquays and his wife Janet, Little Falls, Terry Jaquays and his wife Sandy, Lakewood, WA, 2 step sons Grant Jaquays and his wife Shirley, Ilion, and Scott Darling and his wife Kim, Schenectady, 2 step daughters Vicki Van Slyke and Dean, Richfield Springs and Georgia Pohorley, Glendale, CA, a sister Polly C. Suchy, Fort Plain and several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a stepdaughter Julie Mason Sea in 1997, a step son Keith Darling in 2002, a brother Nathan Stevens Curtiss in 1982 and by 3 sisters Evalena Wright in 1993 Nancy Phillips in 1984 and her twin sister Esther Curtiss in 1921 Graveside memorial services will be held Friday, October 3, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Darling be considered to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 588 Albany St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
