Obituary of Leona B. (Serow) Salek
LITTLE FALLS - Leona B. (Serow) Salek, 82 of 550 E. John Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, May 27, 2005 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center, Utica.
She was born on February 10, 1923 in Little Falls the daughter of the late John and Mary (Kobylarz) Bober. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1940 and was president of both her Junior and Senior classes.
She was first united in marriage to Francis Serow. She was again united in marriage to Waldemar Salek on January 27, 1977 in the Town of Little Falls.
Mrs. Salek was a member of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Little Falls, as well as a member of Polish Community Club, Little Falls and the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America.
She was employed in the Housekeeping Dept. of Little Falls Hospital for many years retiring in 1985.
A devoted housewife and mother she was took great pride in caring for her home and was and avid admirer of the theater. She will always be remember for her love and generosity for her family.
She is survived by her husband Waldemar, her son Stephen B. Serow and his wife Lorraine, Spruce Lake, a daughter in law Linda Serow, Little Falls, 2 grandsons Stephen and Joshua Serow, 3 granddaughters Sherri Gressler, Patricia Bazzano and Christina Sullivan, 3 great grandsons Jonathan , Jeremiah Perkins and James Patrick Bazzano and 2 great granddaughters Patricia Sullivan and Shantel Williams. She was predeceased by her son John F. Serow, a brother Boleslaw Bober and 2 sisters Jennie Lasowski and Sophia Nessel.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2005 at 10:00 am at St. Mary's Cemetery, Town of Herkimer with the Rev. Marion Pociecha, Pastor of the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Little Falls officiating.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
