Obituary of Minnie J. Smith

LITTLE FALLS - Minnie J. Smith, 78 of E. Main Street, Little Falls passed away Monday, August 29, 2005 at Little Falls Hospital where she had been a patient since August 15, 2005. She was born on December 25, 1926 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Grant and Augusta (Euron) Doxstader. She was educated in Little Falls Schools. She was first united in marriage to Clarence Benedict. He predeceased her in March of 1977. On September 8, 1984 she was united in marriage to Russell Smith in Caroga Lake. Mr. Smith predeceased her on August 15, 2003. Mrs. Smith was employed for many years as a Domestic for many homes in Little Falls. She is survived by her son Arthur Benedict, Little Falls, a sister in law Betty Boepple, 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a special niece Deanna Barnes, Little Falls as well as many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son George Doxstader, who died in 1984, 2 brothers Elmer Doxstader and George Boepple, and 3 sisters Arlene Doxstader, Caroline Hoke and Ella Edick. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2005 at 5:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Carl Evans, Pastor of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, September 1, 2005 from 4-5 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow. Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 2, 2005 at 10:00 am at Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Smith be considered to the Hospice Care, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Road, New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
