Obituary of Sophie Krump
ST. JOHNSVILLE - Sophie Krump, 91 formerly of Salisbury and Dolgeville passed away Thursday, September 30, 2004 at the home of her son Joseph at 157 Mill Rd., St. Johnsville.
Sophie has completed her journey here on earth and has now entered into her eternal home with Jesus
She was born on February 28, 1913 in Utica the daughter of the late Jacob and Emily Lewicki. She was educated in Utica schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 69 years Peter Krump, Sr. on February 16, 1930 at St. Joseph's Church, Dolgeville. Mr. Krump predeceased her on January 18, 1999.
She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, Town of Fairfield.
Sophie was very proud of her Ukrainian heritage and took great pleasure in cooking her favorite ethic dishes for her friends and loved ones. At one time she was an active member of the Manheim Home Bureau where she shared her sewing and cooking skills with others.
She is survived by her sons Peter Krump Jr. and his wife Janice, and Joseph J. Krump and his wife Charleen both of Oppenheim, 2 brothers John Lewicki, California, Joseph Lewicki, Utica, 2 sisters Vic Grincewich, California, Ann Sarpin, Pennsylvania, 2 grandchildren Lynn Maine and her husband Carl, Salisbury and Lisa Krump, Little Falls 2 great grandchildren Brianna and Danielle Grippe and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 brothers Peter and Willie Lewicki.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with Elder Keith Handy, St. Johnsville officiating. Interment will take place in Trinity Episcopal Church Cemetery, Town of Fairfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, October 2, 2004 from 12-1 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
