Obituary of Suzanna (Sue) Majtan
LITTLE FALLS - Suzanna (Sue) Majtan, 86 of 226 Loomis Street, Little Falls passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2004 at her residence.
She was born on December 27, 1917 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Pavlus) Majtan. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1935 as well as a graduate of the Nathan Littauer Hospital School of Nursing Class of 1939.
She began her nursing career at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She then enlisted in the US Army Nurse Corps, where she was first stationed at Rome AFB & Bowman AFB to train as a flight nurse for air evacuations. Following her discharge she returned to Ellis Hospital and worked as a RN in the Psychiatric Ward until her retirement in 1982. At which time she returned to Little Falls to reside with her sister Anna and brother Milan Majtan
Miss. Majtan was a veteran of World War II serving with the US Army Nurse Corps. Entering the service on September 15, 1942. She was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant on December 17, 1945.
She was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls as well as a member of the Flight Nurse Association.
She is survived by her sister in law Ruby Majtan, Harahan, LA, 2 nieces Linda Englade and her husband Richard, River Ridge, LA and Tammy Majtan, Harahan, LA, 3 great nieces, 4 great great nieces and nephews and several cousins. She was predeceased by 2 brothers John Majtan, who died in 1977 and Milan Majtan, who died in 1987, and by 2 sisters Anna Majtan, who died in 1991 and Christine Hosley, who died in 1998.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 10:00 am from the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Carl Evans, Pastor officiating. Interment will take place in Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
