Obituary of Bettie J. Tibbitts

LITTLE FALLS - Bettie J. Tibbitts, 82 of 1884 State Route 169, Little Falls passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at Little Falls Hospital where she had been a patient since March 1, 2005. She was born on May 30, 1922 in Ilion the daughter of the late Roland and Jennie (Bowen) LeFever. She was a gradate of Ilion High School Class of 1941 as well as a graduate of Herkimer Nursing School, Class of 1965. She was united in marriage to her husband of 60 years Morton B. Tibbitts, Jr. on May 19, 1945 at the home of the bride's sister in Ilion. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls and was an avid golfer. Mrs. Tibbitts was employed at onetime as a bookkeeper for the Herkimer County Trust Co., Little Falls. She was alter employed in the Maternity Dept. of Little Falls from 1965 until her retirement in 1975. She is survived by her husband Morton, a son Roger C. Tibbitts, Little Falls, a daughter in law Sharon Tibbitts, Little Falls, a grandson Garth L. Tibbitts, Little Falls, a brother Russell LeFever and his wife Mary, Westfield, NY, a sister Anne Lane, Baldwinsville, NY and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Gary A. Tibbitts, who died on July 29, 2003, a sister Margie Warburton, and by a daughter in law Holly E. Tibbitts, who died on December 19, 2004. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls with the Rev. Donald L. Dixon, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery in the spring. There are no public calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Tibbitts be considered to the First Baptist Church, 555 Albany Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
