Obituary of Truman W. Young

LITTLE FALLS - Truman W. Young, 72 of 644 E. Monroe Street, Little Falls passed away Saturday, June 12, 2004 at his residence. He was born on March 3, 1932 in Van Hornesville the son of the late John and Lillian (Hadcox) Young. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School. He was united in marriage to the former Readoth Siver in Little Falls. Mr. Young was a veteran of the US Air Force entering the service on October 30, 1953 in Syracuse. He served with the First Air Force. He was honorably discharged as an Airman First Class on October 29, 1961. He was a member of the Little Falls Elk's Lodge # 42 B.P.O.E., the Little Falls German Mannechor, Little Falls Polish Community Home and was a life member of the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls. He enjoyed going to the stock car races in Fonda, playing cards, setting on the front porch and listing to "Rush Limbaugh" and most of all enjoyed washing and detailing his vehicles. Mr. Young was employed a for many years by the Little Falls Felt Shoe Co., and by the UNIVAC Corp.. He was later employed by the Canterbury Press Co., Rome until his retirement in 1994. He is survived by his wife Readoth, his son Roger Young and his family California, his brother Lauren J. Young and his wife Joan, Newport, 4 brothers in law Raymond Siver, Dolgeville, Edward Slabe, Little Falls, Ronald and George Siver both of Dolgeville, 5 sisters in-law Leona Carpenter, Florence Bower, Erma Siver and Sam Siver all of Dolgeville and June Slabe, Little Falls. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury. Arrangements are by Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank Dr. Haas and staff, Herkimer County Public Health, Hospice Care, Inc., also, dear friends and neighbors Art & Gloria Ciociola, Mike Masi and his family and Barbara.
