Obituary of Vernon R. (Bummer) Klock, Jr

HERKIMER- Vernon R. (Bummer) Klock, Jr., 40 of 402 Folts Street, Herkimer went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at St. Elizabeths Medical Center, Utica. He was born on January 26, 1971 in Herkimer. He is survived by his mother Janet M. Benson and the late Vernon R. Klock, Sr. He graduated from Little Falls High School Class of 1989. He was united in marriage to his wife of 13 years the former Erlene A. Barhydt on February 28, 1998 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls with Rev. David Blank. He was a devoted and loving followers of Jesus attending the New Life Church, Herkimer. Bummer was an avid outdoorsman and sportsman enjoying hunting, fishing and playing golf. Mr. Klock was employed by the City of Little Falls, Department of Public Works for more than 20 years of service. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and later took over the head greens keeper job at the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course. Bummer is survived by his wife Erlene A. Klock, his mother Janet M. Klock, a son Jacob and daughter Paige Klock, still at home, three sisters Jean Marie Fowler and her husband Adam, Ilion, Michele Maiorano and her husband Michael, Herkimer, Robin Klimacek and her husband John, Little Falls, three sisters-in-law Brenda Morse and her husband Ed, Dolgeville, Jackie Cool and her husband Charlie, MI., Shelly Leslie, Little Falls, his in laws Beatrice and Earl Barhydt, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and the many special friends that he has made over the years. He is predeceased by his father Vernon R. Klock, Sr. on December 30, 2002. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 11:00 am from the New Life Church, 337 Protection Avenue, Herkimer with the Rev. David Hayner officiating. Interment will take place in Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the New Life Church, 337 Protection Avenue, Herkimer on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 4-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Tuesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Klock be considered to the family or to the Eastern Regional Medical Center, 1331 East Wyoming Avenue, Philadelphia, PA. 19124. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls.
