Obituary of Violet V. Harwick

LITTLE FALLS Violet V. Harwick, 70 of 760 E. Monroe St. (Valley View Courts) Apt. A-6, Little Falls passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on July 21, 1942 in Little Falls the daughter of the late John and Velma (Harlow) Looman. She was a graduate of Owen D. Young High School, VanHornsville class of 1960. She was united in marriage to her husband of 50 years Robert G. Harwick on June 21, 1963 at First Presbyterian Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Harwick was employed at onetime for the former Duofold Co., Mohawk as a sewing machine operator and the former Allegro Shoe Corp., Little Falls. She was well known in the area for her many years as a babysitter for many families throughout the valley. She also, worked along side her husband as the co-caretaker of Moreland Park, Little Falls and for 20 years she served as Election Inspector for the Herkimer County Board of Elections. She is survived by her husband Robert, her son David Harwick (Rachel), Milton, Florida, her daughters Kandi Fullington (Scott), Little Falls, Beverly Whitmer (Timothy), Glendale, Arizona and Norma Rumrill (Edgar), Dolgeville, her brothers Theodore Looman, Virginia and Wayne Looman (Brenda), St. Johnsville, 5 grandchildren Brittany Allen, Stephen Harwick, Kimberlygayle Whitmer, Rebecca Whitmer and Cody Whitmer, 2 great grandchildren Laila M. Allen and Adalyn Whitmer and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother James Looman. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at Dibble-Tuttle Cemetery, Town of Salisbury with the Vicar Christin Fawcett of the Christ Lutheran Church, Little Falls officiating. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no calling hours.
