Obituary of Wanda C. Harrod

LITTLE FALLS Wanda C. Harrod, 84 of 133 Finks Basin Road, Little Falls passed away Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown where she had been a patient since March 1. She was born on September 22, 1924 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Stanley and Sophia (Liska) Sienkiewicz. She was educated in Herkimer schools. She was united in marriage to her husband of 63 years Gerald F. (Zig) Harrod on February 9, 1946 at St. Josephs Church, Herkimer. Mrs. Harrod was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. As well as a member of the Rock City Senior Citizens, Little Falls. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her home. A beloved wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her husband Gerald (Zig), her son David Harrod and his wife Lorraine, Newton, NJ, her daughter Barbara Donnelly, Yukon, OK, 5 grandchildren Shawn Donnelly and his wife Susan, Scott Donnelly and his fiancé© Amber McKaig, Jolene Morotti and her husband John, Jason Harrod and Mercedes Harrod, a great grandson Lucas Morotti and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Henry and Benjamin Sienkiewicz and a sister Evelyn Zeman. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 1:00 pm from the Holy Family Parish Church, Corner of Main & John St.s, Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Anthony Ligato. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls. There are no public calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Harrod be considered to the Indian Castle Church Restoration Fund, PO Box 172, Little Falls, NY 13365 or to the Holy Family Parish Church, 763 E. Main St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
