Obituary of Robert John Windecker, Sr.

LITTLE FALLS - Robert John Windecker, Sr., 89 of 455 Inghams Mills Road, Little Falls passed away Friday, December 27, 2002 at the East Pasco Medical Center, Zephyrhills, Florida. He was born on May 27, 1913 in the Town of Fairfield the son of the late Floyd and Mabel (Carr) Windecker. He was educated in Manheim Rural Schools. He was united in marriage to his wife of 61 years the former Elizabeth Ferguson on June 2, 1941 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. Mr. Windecker was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls. As well as a member of the Mohawk Valley Squares and the AFL - CIO Local # 182, Utica. Mr. Windecker was a Dairy farmer in the Town of Manheim and also delivered milk door to door throughout the Little Falls, Dolgeville and Ilion area for over 31 years, retiring in 1970. He was later employed for 5 years by the Dolgeville Co - Op and for over 20 years was self employed performing lawn mowing and yard work for many families in the Little Falls area. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, Little Falls, 2 twin sons William Earl Windecker, Sr., Oppenheim, and Robert John Windecker, Jr., Little Falls, 2 daughters Lois Jean Upson and her husband Ernest, Herkimer and Barbara Anne Daley and her companion James Bucnec, Little Falls, a brother Russell E. Windecker and his wife Kathleen, Indian Castle, 2 sisters Elsie Smith, Gloversville and Audrey Kraft, Orange Park, FL, 5 grandchildren William E. Windecker, Jr., Michelle Irwin, Matthew R. Windecker, Arthur L. Daley, III and Christine R. Julian, 6 great grandchildren William E. Windecker, III, Reese Windecker, Ainsley Irwin, Ashley Nicole Julian, Kayleen Marie Julian and Christopher Paul Julian and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Walter E. Windecker, a sister Edna M. Cool, a granddaughter Katherine Marie Upson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2002 at 10:00 am from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Albany Street, Little Falls with Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Monday, December 30, 2002 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services Tuesday morning. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Windecker be considered to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 588 Albany Street, Little Falls.
