Obituary of Theodore (Ted) G. Wright

Theodore (Ted) G. Wright LITTLE FALLS - Theodore (Ted) G. Wright, 81 of 215 Park Place (Randazzo Trl. Pk.), Little Falls passed away Thursday, May 8, 2003 at his residence. He was born on March 12, 1922 in the Town of Little Falls the son of the late Harry S. and Catherine (Miller) Wright. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1937. He as resided in the Little Falls and Town of Norway area all of his life. He was united in marriage to the former Patricia I. Mekkelson on July 14, 1956 at St. Paul's Universalist Church Parsonage, Little Falls. Mrs. Wright predeceased him on May 5, 1988. Mr. Wright was a veteran of World War II, serving with the US Army, entering the service on September 25, 1942 in Albany. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on July 22, 1943 at Ft. Dix, NJ. He was of the Protestant faith. He served a five year term as a member of the Little Falls Central School Board, he was a member of the Little Falls republican Committee, Chairman of the Little Falls Chapter of the American Red Cross, member and past President of the Little Falls German Maennerchor, and the American Legion Post # 31, Little Falls. He was also an avid bowler and belonged to various bowling leagues in Little Falls. Mr. Wright was employed as office manager for the former R.K. Casadonte Heating & Oil Co., Little Falls retiring in January of 1988 after over 31 years of service. Prior to his employment at the Casadonte Co., he was affiliated with the F.W. Woolworth Co, in Little Falls, Hartford and New Haven, Conn., Burlington, VT, and Albany and was employed for several years by the former J.H. Automatics Amusement Co., Little Falls. He is survived by a daughter Kathleen P. Zimmer, Mobile, AL, 6 grandchildren Patricia Jaquay, Little Falls, Eric Jaquay, Arlington, TX, Stephanie Wastowicz, Arlington, TX, Scott Zimmer and his wife Tammy, Clayville, NY, Michelle Hand and her husband Greg, Franklin, GA and Kim Boruty and her husband Carl, Mobile, AL, 16 great grandchildren Jennifer Jaquay, Kristy Petersen, Butch Petersen, Eric Jaquay, Jr., Tiffanie Martin, Monique Martin, Alicia Martin, Amanda, L. D., and Chelsey Rounsaville, Justin and Seth Zimmer, Rian Melchorre, Kayla Willis and Kendle Boruty, and Joseph Newsome 2 cousins Ann Harris, Little Falls and Patricia Davis, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and special friends Barbara Vail and Dan Evans, Little Falls. He was predeceased by a daughter Suellen Zimmer, who died on October 9, 2002. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 6:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street,, Little Falls with the Rev. David Krehbiel officiating. Interment will take place in the Houpt Cemetery, Newville at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Wright be considered to the Hospice, Inc., 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are available at the funeral home for this purpose. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Ted's life to be held at the Little Falls German Maennerchor, E. Main St., Little Falls following the services Thursday evening.
