Obituary of Brian D Howard

ST. JOHNSVILLE – Brian D. Howard, 62 of 1723 Mill Road, St. Johnsville passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on April 14, 1951 in Little Falls the son of Lois R. (Mosher) Howard of Dolgeville and the late Daniel C. Howard. He was educated at Dolgeville High School. Mr. Howard was united in marriage to the former Veronica E. Knapp on October 11, 1991 in Dolgeville. A veteran of the US Navy, he entered the service on November 5, 1974. He was honorably discharged on December 20, 1977. Mr. Howard was a past member of the S & S Ambulance Vol. Corp. and later enjoyed volunteering for the Flap Jackson Fairy Tales Pancake Breakfast to benefit the Margaret Reaney Library in St. Johnsville. He was employed for twelve years as a developmental aide for the CNY DSO, Dolgeville residence. From 2001 – 2007 he owned and operated along with his wife Veronica the Hungry Bear Cafe, St. Johnsville. He is survived by his mother Lois, Dolgeville, his wife Veronica, St. Johnsville, his son Damian Howard (Jennifer), Oregon, his daughters Kristine Fistick (Bernard), N. Carolina and Sharie Howard, Herkimer, his brother Tracey J. Howard (Tammy), Little Falls, his sister Diane Scheuerman, Dolgeville, his mother in law Joan Knapp, St. Johnsville, his father in law Ronald Knapp, Dolgeville and sister in law April Rickard (Dan), Florida, 6 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and his good friend and neighbor Bob Fisher, St. Johnsville. He was predeceased by his sister Carol A. Schmidt in 2004. Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 20, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills where Military Honors will be accorded. Arrangements are by Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Howard be considered to the Mt. Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave., Gloversville, NY 12078. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
