Dear Gail,
This is a very sad day as we mourn the loss of a truly special lady, our beloved Elma. Yes I know how much she loved me as her own son—and I shall always, until the day I die, be honoured and so grateful for the way both Elma and your dear dad Arvid treated me with such warm caring, in 1965/66, when I was an exchange student in Little Falls. As a boy of 17 from South Africa, it was quite a challenging time, but Elma gave me such amazing advice, support and encouragement to succeed. She meant so much to me! My wife Charleen, my family and I sent you our deepest condolences on your sad loss. We must all be fortified by the very warm memories we have of such a generous, kind and warm lady!
