Obituary of Anna Pavlus

JORDANVILLE - Anna Pavlus, 94 for many years of the Forest Road, Jordanville and since July of 2010 a resident of Valley Health Services, Herkimer passed away Saturday, March 1, 2014 at that residence. She was born on August 3, 1919 in the Town of Stark, NY the daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Trgala) Devan and was a graduate of Van Hornesville High School. She was united in marriage to her husband of 46 years John Pavlus on January 24, 1942 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls. Mr. Pavlus predeceased her on March 10, 1988. In her school years she worked as a domestic and food canner for Owen D. Young in Van Hornesville. After graduation she moved to New York City to become a domestic, but missed her country life and return to family farm in Jordanville. She enjoyed working on the farm along with her parents, husband and later her children, gardening and always looked forward to attending the NYS Fair. She is survived by her 3 sons Ronald Pavlus and his wife Sandra, Richfield Springs, Richard Pavlus, Jordanville and John Pavlus and his wife Suri, Bronx, NY, seven grandchildren Brian Pavlus, Diana Armstrong, Lisa Fassett, Ronald Pavlus, Jeanette Nassimos, Paul Devan Pavlus and Gary Pavlus, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. She was predeceased by her sister Susan Devan on February 8, 1981. Graveside services will be held at a date and time to be announced later in the spring at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no public calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Pavlus be considered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to extend their since appreciation to the staff of Valley Health Services for the care and kindness shown to Mrs. Pavlus and her family.
