Obituary of Violet V. Cook
LITTLE FALLS- Violet V. Cook, 90 of State Route 167, Little Falls passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 at 864 Snells Bush Road, the home of Robert and Stephanie Cook, where she resided, cared for and loved.
She was born on November 27, 1923 in Herkimer the daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Lieski) Vincent. Violet was educated in Herkimer Schools.
She was united in marriage to her husband of 65 years Robert F. Cook on August 5, 1942 at St. Joseph’s Church, Herkimer. Mr. Cook predeceased her on December 27, 2007.
She was of the Catholic faith. Violet was a volunteer with the American Red Cross and the Little Falls Hospital for many years along with her dear friend Sophie Sokol, who predeceased her and special friends Pat and Emily Sokol who were loved like family to Violet.
She was Co-Owner and Operator along with her husband Robert and her son and daughter in law Robert and Stephanie Cook on the family farm Cook’s Dairy Farm, Snells Bush Road. Violet was also employed at the former National Automotive Fiber Co., Little Falls for several years.
Violet was such a fine lady and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by so many friends including one special friend Ann Murphy who also predeceased her and is interred next to Violet in Rural Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Robert J. and Stephanie Cook, granddaughters Melissa Cook, Jennifer Cool and her husband Jamie, grandson Richard (RJ) Cook and his fiancé Rebecca Herron, great grandchildren Summer, Abby, Owen Olivia, Jamie, Jaden, a dear family friend Patsy Cook and her friend Bryant Austin and several nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by two brothers Michael and Joseph Vincent, a sister Virginia Dychko, two sons Ronald Cook, January 27, 2007, Richard G. Cook, December 9, 2012 and a grandson Robert (Bobby) S. Cook, December 1, 2007.
Mrs. Cook was laid to rest on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills with the Rev. Dr. Steven A. Scarcia, Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. There were no public calling hours or service.
She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered for her saying “Love’em warts and all !! “
