Obituary of Allan G Edmunds

TOWN OF DANUBE – Allan G. Edmunds, 82 of Schalls Hollow Road, Little Falls passed away Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown. He was born on October 29, 1931 in the Town of Danube the son of the late Grover C. and Lulah May (Howe) Edmunds and was educated in Little Falls schools. On June 21, 1952 he was united in marriage to his wife of 25 years the former Norma Jean Van Allen at the Salisbury United Methodist Church. She predeceased him on February 7, 1976. On December 23, 1978 he was again united in marriage to his wife of 35 years the former Mary R. (Mang) Mosher at St. John’s Reformed Church, St. Johnsville. She predeceased him on July 14, 2012. Mr. Edmunds served on the Town of Danube as a member of the town board for 36 years, he also served as the Vice President of the Indian Castle Church Restoration and Preservation Society and was Past President of the United Paper workers Union Local # 438, Little Falls. An avid hunter and outdoorsman he was a charter member of the Creekside Hunting Club and was especially fond of riding his 4-wheeler. Mr. Edmunds was employed as a machinist for over 30 years by the Burrows Paper Corp.., Little Falls. He is survived by his sons Allan Edmunds and his wife Joy, Little Falls, Leland Edmunds and his wife Cindy, Mohawk, Bernard Edmunds and his wife Linda, Westfield MA and Donald Edmunds and his wife Yukari, St. Augustine, FL, his daughters Cynthia Barker and her husband Phil, Forest, VA and Linda Case and her husband Fred, St. Johnsville, step son George Mosher, Little Falls and step daughters Bonnie Sicara and her husband John and Elaine Clavette and her husband Paul both of Dolgeville, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Donald C. Edmunds in 1992 and Bernard L. Edmunds in 1993. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11:00 am from St. John’s Reformed Church, 68 W. Main Street, St. Johnsville with the Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. John’s Reformed Church, 68 W. Main Street, St. Johnsville on Thursday, April 24, 2014 from 10-11 am and to attend the funeral services to follow. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Edmunds be considered to the Indian Castle Church Restoration Society, PO Box 172, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
