Obituary of Michael J. Sterusky

LITTLE FALLS – Michael J. Sterusky, 47 of Peckville Road, Little Falls passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 after a courageous fight with cancer for the past year and a half. He was born on December 9, 1966 in Albany, NY the son of Donna (Bleaking) Barretta of Little Falls and the late Frank P. Sterusky, Sr. who predeceased him on March 22, 2014. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1985. Mike was a true farmer at heart having worked on many local dairy farms over the years. He was presently employed for J & J Custom Farming, LLC, Little Falls. He also, briefly worked at one time for the Herkimer County Highway Dept. He is survived by his mother and stepfather Donna and David Barretta, Little Falls, a son Jonathan Sterusky, Massachusetts, his brothers John Sterusky and his wife Jean, Little Falls, Stephen Sterusky and his wife Darhla, Little Falls, Mark Sterusky and his wife Pam, Charleston, SC and Frank P. Sterusky Jr. and his girlfriend Janet Fish, Little Falls, his aunt Adrienne Hunt, Ilion, his best friend John Petkovsek and his wife Patty with whom he resided, his close friend Thomas Bliss, Little Falls, niece Kelsey and nephews Devan, Zachary, Chris and Brad. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life to be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Little Falls Elk’s Lodge, 66 W. Gansevoort St., Little Falls. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank Dr’s Monzon and Bermao of Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown for their care and compassion shown to Mike and his family during his illness.
