Obituary of William E Smith, Sr.

LITTLE FALLS – William E. Smith, Sr., 64 formerly of the Snells Bush Road, Little Falls passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at the Alpine Nursing & Rehab. Center, Little Falls where he had been a resident since 2011. He was born on June 22, 1949 in Little Falls the son of the late Elmer and Effie (Winkler) Smith. He was a graduate of Fort Plain High School class of 1967. On July 22, 2000 he was united in marriage to the former Cynthia Cook in St. Johnsville. Mrs. Smith predeceased him on March 4, 2011. Mr. Smith was a dairy farmer all of his life having worked on the David Bladek Farm in the Town of Manheim for 39 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and the outdoors. He is survived by his sons William E. Smith, Jr. and his wife Crystal, Surfside Beach, SC, Randy Smith and his wife Anna, St. Johnsville and Patrick Smith, St Johnsville, his daughter Deanna Hyney and her husband David, Little Falls, his brothers Donald Smith and his wife Pat, Wilson, NY and Steven Smith of Amsterdam, NY, his sister Linda Grandshaw and her husband Robert, Mayfield, NY and grandchildren Raymond Cool and his wife Tara, Alyssa Hyney, Rebecca Hyney, Joseph Smith, Jacob Smith, Kerrah Smith and Kaleb Smith, a great grandchild Alexis Smith and several nieces and nephews. Graveside memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Frey’s Bush Cemetery, Town of Minden with the Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb officiating. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY.
