Obituary of Sheila M. Harper

LITTLE FALLS – Sheila M. Harper, 86 a longtime resident of Jackson Street, Little Falls passed away Friday, May 30, 2014 at the Alpine Nursing and Rehab. Center, Little Falls where she has been a resident since April of 2013. She was born on January 21, 1928 in Cheltenham, England the daughter of the late James and Alice Maria (Winter) Hunt. She was educated in her native schools. On March 7, 1953 she was united in marriage to her husband of 23 years Cecil F. Harper in Cheltenham, England where he was stationed during the Korean War. Arriving in this country in 1954 following her husband’s discharge from the service. Mr. Harper predeceased her on December 4, 1976. Mrs. Harper is survived by her son; Mark Harper and his wife Laurie, his daughters; Beverly Kelly and her husband Michael and Barbara Harper and her companion Rob Kane all of Little Falls, her grandchildren; Jareth Kelly and his wife Jessica, Michael G. Kelly, Shawnna Kane and Steven Harper, great grandchildren Cassidy Kane and Beatrice Kelly, her sisters in law; Shirley Almendinger and Frances Sponable of Little Falls, her dear friends; Florence Chandler and Argie Viskup of Little Falls, several nieces and nephews and her canine friend from the Alpine “Magic”. She was predeceased by her brothers William and Cyril Hunt. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mrs. Harper be considered to the Herkimer County Humane Society, PO Box 73, Mohawk, NY 13407 or Little Falls Beautification Committee, c/o of Mrs. Ruth Pazzanese, 18 N. Ann St., Little Falls, and NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
