Obituary of Sophia Lea Marie Lyon

DOLGEVILLE- Alan and Carla Lyon are mourning the loss of their young daughter Sophia Lea Marie (Pia) Lyon. Who went to join the angels in heaven and to be with the Lord on June 4, 2014 in Dolgeville. Pia was born on February 22, 2013 in Cooperstown, NY Pia was bright, loving and full of life. Even though she was taken from this life way to soon we think of her infectious smile that would warm any ones heart and the treasured memories we all shared. Sophia will be sorely missed by all that loved her. She is survived by her loving parents Alan and Carla, her paternal grandparents Albert and Brenda Lyon, Morganton, NC, her maternal grandparents David and Teresa Hopkins, Dolgeville, her sisters Haylie J. Erb and Olivia H. Lyon and a brother Anthony J. Lyon all at home, her uncle Nole Hopkins and his wife Tiffany, Washington, her aunts Jennifer Hamby and her husband Tracy, Morganton, NC, Tracy Kenyon and her husband Andy, Dolgeville, Melissa Lyon, Caser, NC, Krista Hopkins and her husband Michael Colandrea, Tamarac, FL, Dana Lockwood and her husband Craig, Little Falls and several cousins. Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Dr. Steven Scarcia of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills. There will be no public calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Sophia be considered to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105-1905. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. The family would like to pay a special thanks to first responders, police, family, friends and community, for all the acts of sympathy and heart felt compassion shown to the family during this difficult time.
