Obituary of Glenn S Lamphere, Sr.
SALISBURY – Glenn S. Lamphere, Sr., 77of 247 Irondale Road, Town of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on February 5, 1937 in the Town of Manheim the son of the late Frank P. and Flossie (Allen) Lamphere. He received his education in Dolgeville and Stratford schools.
He was united in marriage to his wife of 53 years the former Jean Burdick on October 1, 1960 at the Curtiss Corners Church.
Mr. Lamphere was a dairy farmer for most of his life operating the family dairy farm on the Snyder Road, Town of Fairfield. After retiring from farming he was employed for several years by North Hudson Woodcraft, Dolgeville.
He is survived his wife; Jean, his sons and their wives; Dennis and Linda Lamphere, Little Falls, Scott and Cheryl Lamphere, Sr., Dolgeville, Lee and Barbara Lamphere, Sr., Fairfield, Glenn and Jean Lamphere, Jr., Stratford, Warren and Rose (Peaches) Lamphere, Salisbury Center, his daughter and her husband; Jeanne and Stanley (Bub) Hayes, Jr., Salisbury Center, his sisters; Margaret Williams, Mohawk and Isabelle Lee, Dolgeville, his brother; Franklin and his wife Dorothy, Fairfield, 2 grandchildren they raised, Carrie Lamphere and Wayne Lamphere, Jr., 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sisters in law; Betty Lamphere, Poland, Ethel Lamphere, Richfield Springs and Esther Lamphere, Richfield Springs and several nieces and nephews, a special niece; Janice Walrath and her husband David and their family, Little Falls, special people and friends, his sister in law and brother in law Beverly and Arnold Cohen, Selkirk, NY, Grant and Palma Moore, Little Falls, Sue and the late Tim Miles, Herkimer and Doris and the late Dick Handy, Ft. Plain and many others too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his brothers; Eugene, Arthur, Jay and Emerson Lamphere and William Daley, his sister Edith Johnson and by his son Wayne Lamphere, Sr.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 12:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Lynn Lockwood, Pastor of the Stratford United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Stratford Cemetery, Town of Salisbury.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 9:00 am until the time of the services at 12:00 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
