Obituary of Joel D. Snyder

LITTLE FALLS - Joel D. Snyder, 71 of 18 Burwell Street, Little Falls passed away unexpectedly Friday, September 19, 2014 at his residence. He was born on August 28, 1943 in Sunbury, PA the son of the Jean (Frick) Snyder and the late John Snyder. He was a graduate of Metuchen, NJ High School and the Rhode Island School of Design. Mr. Snyder came to this area from Long Island, first locating in St. Johnsville for many years and in 1985 relocating to Little Falls where he has since resided. He had a great love of the Mohawk Valley and the Adirondacks where he enjoyed camping, fishing and canoeing. He also enjoyed doing artwork for his many friends and family. Mr. Snyder was a well accomplished Illustrator of many books, magazines and other medias. He is survived by his mother; Jean, Montrose, PA, his sons; Robert Snyder and his wife Jennifer, Centennial, CO and Adam Snyder, Singapore and by his daughter; Karin Barrows and her husband Christopher, Centennial, CO, his bothers; John Snyder and his wife Theresa, Wilmington, DE and Jeffrey Snyder and his wife Carol, Montrose, PA, his grandchildren; Natasha, Jasmine and Benjamin Snyder and Marley Barrows and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Jeffrey Snyder 1988. Memorial services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Robert Gram, Kingston, NY officiating. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Snyder be considered to the Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts, 401 Canal Place, Little Falls, NY 13365. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
