Obituary of Helyn B Logar

LITTLE FALLS- Helyn B. Logar, 87 a lifelong resident of Little Falls passed away peacefully Saturday morning May 30, 2015 at the Alpine Rehab. and Nursing Center, Little Falls. Where she has been a resident since March 2015. She was born on February 17, 1928 in Little Falls the daughter of the late John and Katherine (Kryla) Gielarowski. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1946. On June 10, 1950 she married the late Loddie Logar in the former Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Little Falls. Mr. Logar predeceased her on December 2, 1977. Helyn was employed for 25 years at the former Merryl Dress Company in Little Falls as Office Manager. After the closing of Merryl Dress she worked at the former Little Frocks Dress Company in Little Falls till her retirement in 1980. She enjoyed cooking and baking especially for the Holidays and she was an excellent seamstress. She also loved reading and doing all kinds of puzzles. Helyn is survived by her daughter Kathleen Logar, Albany, NY, a son David Logar, Little Falls, a sister Joanne Tinker, Albany, NY and a sister-in-law Leonore Gielarowski , Syracuse, NY and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her very dear and closest friend Argie Viskup of Little Falls. She was predeceased by her sister Josephine Traino and her two brothers Stanley and John Gielarowski. In respecting Helyn’ s wishes, a private graveside service will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, at the time convenient for the family. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Alpine Rehab. and Nursing Center for their care and compassion shown to Helyn.
