Obituary of Helen M Frye

LITTLE FALLS - Helen M. Frye, 100 of the Frye Road, Little Falls passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Little Falls Hospital. She was born on November 7, 1914 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Walter and Caroline (Myers) McCluskey. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1932 and was a graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, Amsterdam, NY Class of 1936 as a Registered Nurse. She later continued her education at Utica College to pursue her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Mrs. Frye was united in marriage to her husband of 40 years James Nelson Frye on September 6, 1936 in New York City, NY. Mr. Frye predeceased her on November 21, 1975. Mrs. Frye began her career in nursing in 1936 as a private duty nurse in various homes throughout the area before taking a position St. Luke’s Memorial Hospital, New Hartford in the Coronary Care Unit. She later was employed as the Supervisor of the Special Care and Coronary Care Units of Little Falls Hospital until her retirement. Following her retirement she was employed for 10 years by the former Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls She is survived by her daughter; Marsha Peach and Gary Lasher, a granddaughter; Karen Streusky, Utica and many niece, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers; John, Joseph and Stanley McCluskey and by her sisters; Mary Murray, Caroline McCluskey, Regina Rachon, Josephine Salvador and Martha Wyraz. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N.
