Obituary of Joan S Cotton

LITTLE FALLS - Joan S. Cotton, 82 of Top Notch Road, Little Falls passed away Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Alpine Nursing and Rehab. Center, Little Falls where she had been a resident since May of 2015. She was born on February 24, 1933 in Little Falls, NY the daughter of the late Donald and Wilhelmina (Gronosky) Stafford. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Class of 1950. She was united in marriage to her husband of 63 years Ralph H. Cotton on August 4, 1951 at St. Mary’s Church, Little Falls. Mrs. Cotton was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls as well as a member of the Eatonville Secret Pal Club. Mrs. Cotton was employed as a customer service representative for the former Herkimer County Trust Co., Little Falls retiring after 26 years of service. She was also employed at onetime by the former Little Falls 5 & 10, the Triangle Shoe Store and the Allegro Shoe Co., all of Little Falls. She also served as the Town of Little Falls Registrar of Vital Statistics for over 50 years. She is survived by her husband; Ralph, her daughter; Linda Comstock and her husband Harold, Little Falls, her sons; Robert Cotton and his wife Diane, Donald Cotton and his companion Sylvia George, Gary Cotton and his wife Molly and Thomas Cotton and his wife Shelley all of Little Falls, her sisters; Patricia Bauer, Clinton, NY and Rosemary L’Italien and her husband Richard, Chevy Chase, MD, 14 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Terrance Healy officiating. Interment will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Town of Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 from 1-2 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
