Obituary of Allen M Kvenvik

LITTLE FALLS – Allen M. Kvenvik, 83 of King Street, Little Falls, NY passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at his residence following a brief illness. He was born on October 10, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Alfred and Magnhild (Kristiensen) Kvenvik. He was a graduate of Dewey High School, Brooklyn, NY. On March 21, 1953 he was united in marriage to his wife of 53 years the former Arlene R. Baker in Indiana. The couple made their home in the Bronx, before relocating to Little Falls in 1989. Mrs. Kvenvik predeceased him on November 5, 2006. A veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Army. He entered the service on January 12, 1953 in Brooklyn. He was with the 223rd Infantry Regiment in the Korean Theater. He was honorably discharged as a Private First Class on January 22, 1955 at Ft. Devens, Mass. Mr. Kvenvik was employed as a Carpenter and Supervisor for the New York City District Council of Carpenters Union, Local 902 until his retirement. He was a member of the S/Sgt. Steve Stefula Post # 4612, VFW, Little Falls He is survived by his sons; Michael A. Kvenvik, Richmond, VA and Allen R. Kvenvik, Little Falls, his daughters; Margaret A. Kellum (Stonewall), Glen Allen, VA, Donna E. Villenevue (Bruce), St. Johnsville, Cynthia A. Trotta (Kenneth), New Rochelle, NY and Jennifer R. Boepple (Chad), Little Falls, his sister; Joan D. Johannesen, Lancaster, PA, thirteen grandchildren; Michael, Courtney and Robert Kvenvik, Steven Gomez, Adam Baumann, Shelby and Stone Kellum, Bruce Villeneuve, Allison Beyer, Erin Zick, Bradley and Kristian Vartabedian and Katie Boepple,, two great grandchildren; Savanah Kellum and Edward (Teddy) Zick and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter; Janet L. Vartabedian, on October 27, 2014 and by his brothers; Stanley and Rudolph Kvenvik. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where Military Honors will be accorded. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Kvenvik be considered to the Salvation Army, PO Box 269, Alexandria, VA 22314.
