Obituary of Margaret Farquhar

SALISBURY – Margaret Farquhar, 67 of the Burrell Road, Little Falls (Town of Salisbury) passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was born on January 12, 1949 in Ilion, NY the daughter of the late Frank J. and Geraldine (Baker) Austin, Sr. She received her education at Owen D. Young Schools, Van Hornesville. On December 26, 1966 she was united in marriage to her husband of 49 years Gary E. Farquhar in Little Falls. Margaret enjoyed bowling in different leagues in both Dolgeville and Little Falls and was a past member of the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary.. She was employed for 30 years by the Gehring-Tricot Corp., Dolgeville retiring in 2011. She had also been employed at various times by the former Daniel Green Co., Dolgeville, Felt Shoe Co. and the Allegro Shoe Corp., both of Little Falls. A loving wife and mother, her greatest joy was being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. When not spoiling her grandkids she enjoyed playing bingo, camping with family and friends and trips to the casino. She is survived by her husband Gary, her sons; Gary E. Farquhar, Jr. and his wife Jennifer, Salisbury, Bryan S. Farquhar and his wife Kelly, Salisbury and Jeffrey P. Farquhar, Sr., Fairfield, her daughters; Brenda L. Hall and her husband Judson, Whitesboro and Cindy A. Brunelle and her husband Robert., Sr., Salisbury, eleven grandchildren; Gary Farquhar, III, Zachary Farquhar, Jacob Farquhar, Mackenzie Farquhar, Bayleigh Farquhar, Jeffrey Farquhar Jr., Chelsea Farquhar, Amanda Baker, Kortney Baker, Robert Brunelle Jr. and Darren Brunelle, three great grandchildren; Kyle Anderson, Trentyn Anderson and Hensley Alberico and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; Frank J. Austin, Jr. in 1994 and John H. Austin, Sr., in 2011. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at 7:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in Salisbury Rural Cemetery, Town of Salisbury later in the spring. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 4-7 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Margaret be considered to the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept., PO Box 65, Salisbury Center, NY 13454 or the Hospice & Palliative Care, 4277 Middle Settlement Rd., New Hartford, NY 13413. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose. Members of the Salisbury Vol. Fire Dept. will call in a body at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm
