Obituary of Ellen B Landers

LITTLE FALLS – Ellen B. Landers, 78 of 759 E. Monroe St., (Garden Apt.’s), Little Falls, NY passed away Sunday, July 10, 2016 at the Bassett Medical Center, Cooperstown, NY following a brief illness. She was born on February 21, 1938 in Little Falls the daughter of the late David H and Pearle (Billington) Landers. She was educated in Little Falls schools. Ellen was first employed by the former National Auto Store, Little Falls and for many years in the Operations and Computer Services Department of the former Herkimer County Trust Co., Little Falls, where she became well known throughout the community, always enjoying visiting with her many friends and acquaintances in the area. She was last employed in the Processing Department of the ACS Co., Marcy, NY. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends at the family camp on Pine Lake, crocheting, knitting and taking care of her two cats. She is survived by her daughter; Sharon Edmunds and her husband James, Little Falls, her grandchildren; Jennifer Schuyler (Jody), Dolgeville, Laura Popiel (Michael), Little Falls, Vincent LaPorta (Dena), California, Caitlin Croote (Leonard), Hoffmeister and Devin Edmunds, Little Falls, her great grandchildren; Adam & Nicholas Schuyler, Benjamin, Maegan and Nolan Popiel, Michael, Leonardo and Valentino LaPorta and Maggie Croote. She was predeceased by her companion of over 30 years John (Larry) Fogarty on June 10, 1987 Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with Pastor Gertrude Ortlieb, Pastor of the Inghams Mills Baptist Church officiating. Interment will take place in Van Hornesville Cemetery, Van Hornesville, NY. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Monday, July 18, 2016 from 9-10 am and to attend the funeral services to follow. It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Ellen be considered to Catholic Charites of Herkimer County “Ride Program”, 61 West St., Ilion, NY 13357. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
