Obituary of Albert J Brownell

FORT PLAIN – Albert J. Brownell, 80 of Mill Lane, Fort Plain, NY passed away Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Little Falls Hospital after being stricken at home. He was born on February 16, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of the late Daniel and Katherine (Christman) Brownell. On April 17, 1971 Mr. Brownell was united in marriage to the former Cheryl A. Klock in Ephratah, NY. She predeceased him on July 2, 2011. Mr. Brownell was employed for many years in the dairy industry on several farms in the area and was last employed as a truck driver for the Caruso Cattle Co., Frankfort, NY. Following his retirement he enjoyed driving his many friends from the local Amish communities to various appointments. He is survived by his sons; Albert J. Brownell, Jr. (June) Mayfield, James Brownell (Cheryl), Fonda, John Brownell (Pauline), Tim Brownell (Stacy), Charles Brownell (Stephanie) all of Fort Plain, Daniel Brownell (Candince), Canajoharie, and Bert Brownell (Karla), St. Johnsville, his daughters; Sandra Douglas (Michael Schmidt), Fort Plain, Julie Putnam (Chris), New Berlin, Judy Baker (George), Amsterdam, Pam Brownell, Johnstown and Robin Snell (John), Melrose. His brother; James Brownell (Anne) Fort Plain, his sisters; Jennie Tomek (Stan), Fort Plain, Mable Cook (Ron), Salt Springville, Hanna Schuyler (Robert), Inghams Mills and Marion Douglas, Texas, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons; Thomas R. Brownell and Michael Douglas, his daughters; Cheryl Clemons, a granddaughter; Ashley Marie Putnam, brothers; John Monk, John, William and Elton Brownell, his sisters; Katherine Kilmartin and Edith Filliman. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10:00 am from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Kenneth Dingman officiating. Interment will take place at Freysbush Cemetery, Town of Minden. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 9-10 am and to attend the funeral services to follow.
