Obituary of Gertrude C Hysack

LITTLE FALLS – Gertrude C. Hysack, 87 of 395 W. Main Street, Little Falls, NY passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at her residence with her loving family at her side. She was born on July 12, 1929 in Little Falls the daughter of the late Carl and Christina (Sivack) Schmelz. She was a graduate of Little Falls High School Class of 1948. On May 5, 1951 she was united in marriage to her husband of 41 years Frank C. Hysack, Sr. at the Holy Spirit Polish National Catholic Church, Little Falls. Mr. Hysack predeceased her on November 19, 1992. Mrs. Hysack was a member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls and was a former member of the Little Falls Home Bureau and the Secret Pal Club. She also enjoyed crocheting, having made many items for her family and friends. She always looked forward to her annual trip to spend some time during the winter months visiting her daughter Carol in Florida. Over the years she was employed as a waitress on the NYS Thruway, a cashier at the former A&P Grocery, Little Falls, and various dress factories in the area and at onetime as a secretary/stenographer for the Herkimer Co. Dept. of Social Service, leaving those positions to raise her family, which was her greatest joy. She is survived by her sons; Frank C. Hysack, Jr. and his wife Peggy, Mohawk, Robert Hysack, Fairfield, David (Stosh) Hysack and Carrie Barnes, Dolgeville, James (Whitey) Hysack and his wife Shari, Fairfield and Kevin Hysack, Kissimmee, FL, her daughters; Mary Perrone, Millinocket, ME and Barbara Ostasz, Herkimer, her son in law; Glenn Smith, Kissimmee, FL, 11 grandchildren; Michael Hysack, Jennifer Weaver, Cathy Hysack, Terrance Perrone, Joshua Sadlon, Zachary Sadlon, Kayla Ostasz, Samantha Kuyrkendall, Dylan Hysack, Brianna Hysack and Brittney Florian, 4 great grandchildren; Jadyn Hysack, Emilie Hysack, Evan Weaver, Addison Weaver and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughters; Ellen M. Hysack in 1999 and Carol A. Hysack in 2014, her daughter in law: Katherine Hysack in 1990, and by her brothers Albert Schmelz in 1945 and William Schmelz in 1991. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm from the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY with the Rev. Dr. Steven a. Scarcia, Rector of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Little Falls officiating. Interment will take place in Church Street Cemetery, Little Falls. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the funeral home on Friday, August 19, 2016 from 12-1 pm and to attend the funeral services to follow.
