Obituary of Charles E. McLaughlin, Sr.
LITTLE FALLS – Charles E. (Chuck) McLaughlin, 73 of State Route 169, Little Falls, NY passed away Friday, August 26, 2016 at the Folts Home, Herkimer.
Chuck was born on November 30, 1942 in Little Falls the son of the late Cletus J and Margaret (O’Connell) McLaughlin. He was educated at St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls.
On October 24, 1987 he was united in marriage to his beloved wife of 28 years the former Mary Ann Millow in Little Falls.
A member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls. He was also a member and Past Governor of the former Little Falls Moose Lodge and for many years he served as the Caretaker of Moreland Park, Little Falls.
Mr. McLaughlin was employed for 43 years in the meat department for the former P&C Food Store, Little Falls retiring in 1999 as the department manager. He also served as the union steward for many years
A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather he is survived by his wife; Mary Ann, his sons; Charles E. McLaughlin, Jr. and his wife Ellen, Little Falls and William J. McLaughlin, Gulfport, Miss., Raymond R. Eagles and his wife Janet, Clarks Mills, NY and Blane Eagles and his wife Melissa, Stratford, his daughters; Valdean Chamberlin and her husband Clifton, Newport, NY, Rebecca Eagles and Charles Case, Exeter, NY and Laura Mellon and her husband Jay, Tega Cay, SC, his brother; Cletus J. McLaughlin and his wife Ann, Little Falls, his sisters; Margaret Lawson (Bob Fenton), Town of Ohio, NY and Sarah Rood and her husband Thomas, Little Falls, grandchildren; Charles (Chaz) McLaughlin, III, Zachary McLaughlin, Amanda Tabor (Nate), Jeremy Chamberlain, Crystal Gerhardt (Adam), Tiffany Hoke (Allan), Katherine McLaughlin, Kelsea Eagles and Daniel Eagles, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was married at onetime to Barbara McLaughlin, Little Falls.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place.
Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. McLaughlin be considered to the St. Jude’s Children’s research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
