Obituary of Ronald C. Deming
LITTLE FALLS – Ronald C. Deming, 58, of State Route 169, Little Falls, NY, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 as a result of injuries sustained in a work related accident on the NYS Thruway in the Town of Danube.
He was born on June 6, 1958 in Little Falls. He was the son of the late Ronald G. and Nancy L. (Petrie) Deming. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School class of 1976.
On July 1, 1995 he was united in marriage to his wife of 21 years, the former Sally I. Kegan, at the Holy Family Parish Church in Little Falls.
Ron was employed for over 20 years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the NYS Thruway Authority of Herkimer. For several years he was the owner and operator of the former Classic Lounge, Mohawk and the Good Times Lounge, Little Falls
He grew up working on the Petrie family dairy farm in the Town of Little Falls. He enjoyed the many hours he spent splitting wood for the homes wood stove. When not working hard he enjoyed gathering with his family and friends; his greatest joy was taking care of his beloved family.
He is survived by his wife, Sally, his daughters, Nicole I. Kraft-Deming (Jaimeson Mayne), Little Falls and Leah M. Deming (Michael Tornabene), Marina del Ray, Calif.; his sister, Diane Smith (George Wickswat), Little Falls, niece, Tara Krauski (Keith), Little Falls and nephew, Bryan Smith (Julia), Fairport, NY, grandniece, Alana Smith and grandnephew, Zarek Krauski; aunts, Ruth Wheeler and Betty Deming, both of Little Falls, his mother and father in law, Donna and Jack Kegan, Ft. Edward, NY, his sisters in law and their families, Jacqueline Kegan (Paul Wells) and son Joseph, Lake George, Mary Kegan (David Fenton) and daughter Anna, Gansevoort, Colleen and Frank Paolicelli and daughter Jaleen Sherrange, Saratoga Springs, Debi Gray and daughter Kegan, Glens Falls and Lisa and Wayne Wildey and daughter Merissa, Glens Falls and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother in law, Gary Smith in 2013.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Holy Family Parish Church, Cor. Main & John St.’s, Little Falls where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Terence Healy. Interment will take place in Rural Park Cemetery, Inghams Mills.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5-8 pm and to attend the funeral services on Thursday morning.
In lieu of flowers, it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Ron be considered to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute for Melanoma Research, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215. Envelopes are also available at the funeral home for this purpose.
