Obituary of John D Paracka

EAST HERKIMER – John D. Paracka, 82 of Smalls Bush Road, Herkimer, NY passed away unexpectedly Sunday, November 20, 2016 at his residence. He was born on November 15, 1934 in Little Falls, NY the son of the late John and Anna (Stransky) Paracka. He was a graduate of Little Falls High School and Union College, Albany with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical engineering. Mr. Paracka honorably served his country as a member of the US Army Reserves. He was an active member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Little Falls, as well as an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, riding his four wheeler and enjoyed his monthly visits with the “Bunch of Old Guys Lunch Club” attended by former students of Little Falls High School and St. Mary’s Academy from the 1950’s Mr. Paracka was employed for over twenty years as an Electrical Engineer for the Naval Underwater Systems Center (NUSC), Middletown, RI. He is survived by his daughters, Amy Janes and her husband Mark, Middletown, RI and Sara Taber and her husband Robert, Somerset, MA, his sister Dorothy Nielsen and her husband Rodney, Northville, NY, his grandchildren, Miles St. John, Anna Janes, Madlyn Janes, Seamus Fennelly, Lauren Fennelly, Jacob Taber and Skler Taber, great granddaughter, Forest St. John and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Graveside spring interment services will be held at a time and date to be announced at Holy Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Little Falls. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY It is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Mr. Paracka be considered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 512 E. Gansevoort St., Little Falls, NY 13365.
