Obituary of Julio J Abbruzzese

TOWN OF WARREN – Julio J. Abbruzzese, 84 of State Route 167, Mohawk (Town of Warren) passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at his residence with his loving family by his side following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 4, 1932 in Plainfield, NJ the son of the late Mario and Erminia (Loalbo) Abbruzzese. He was educated at Somerset School, North Plainfield, NJ. On March 19, 1966 he was united in marriage to his wife of 50 years the former Ann T. Story in N. Plainfield, NJ. The couple relocated in 1968 to Winfield, Illinois until 1975 when they relocated to their present home in the Town of Warren. Mr. Abbruzzese was a proud veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Navy. Entering the service on November 1, 1951. His tours of duty included the USS Sullivan’s, USS Antietam and the USS F.D.R. He was honorably discharged on October 21, 1955. He was a member of the Crowley – Barnum American Legion Post # 25, Mohawk and the Italian American Club, N. Plainfield, NJ. Mr. Abbruzzese was a self-employed carpenter operating JDR Builders, Mohawk for many years and for a brief period he was employed as a Firefighter for the North Plainfield, NJ Fire Dept. He is survived by his wife Ann, his sons, Joseph Abbruzzese and his partner James Hallquist, Ocean Grove, NJ, Michael Abbruzzese and Sandra Foti, Herkimer, NY and J. Christopher Abbruzzese and his wife Jennifer, Cooperstown, NY, his daughter Michelle Coyne and her husband Ken, Lady Lakes, FL, his brother Guido Abbruzzese, S. Plainfield, NJ, his sister, Philomena Sommer, S. Plainfield, NJ, his grandchildren, Marissa Abbruzzese, Julianna Abbruzzese and Ryan Coyne and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Orlando and Mario Abbruzzese and his sisters, Christina Abbruzzese and Mary Seider. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 5, 2016 at 11:00 am St. Joseph’s RC Church, Richfield Springs with the Rev. Silvaster Sarihaddula, officiating. Final interment will take place at St. Joseph’s cemetery, Richfield Springs, NY in the spring of 2017. Arrangements are by the Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, Inc., 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY. There are no calling hours.
